Body parts of air hostess identified, other details

Kathmandu, 25 Aug.: Body parts of air Sahara Sherpa, who died in the crash of a Dronier aircraft of Agni Air in Makwanpur, central Nepal, Tuesday was handed over to relatives after identification by a team of forensic experts.
Eleven passengers and three crew members were killed when the aircraft plouhed into a field near a school.
Three passengers, including a foreigner, missed the flight from the capital to Lukla at the foot of Mount Everest and survived.
The identification of body parts of other passengers and crew members with limited facilities at TU Teaching Hospital could take as much at a week, a doctor said.
Woman co-pilot Sophiya Sherpa—the first female pilot to be killed over Nepali skies--, underwent pilot training in USA.
Among the passengers were four American and one Japanese woman.
Americans Irana Shelets, Levzi Cardoso, Heather Finch, Kendra Dominique Fallon and Japan’s Yuki Hayashi died in the crash along.
Briton Taylor Jeremy also perished.
The aircraft crashed in heavy rainfall after developing two faults.
One aircraft landed in the capital’s airport minutes before the Dronier crashed using the same flight path the ill-fated plane was directed to take by air controllers at Tribhhvan International Airport.

Delayed Maoist central committee begins

Kathmandu, 25 Aug.: The thrice delayed central committee of Maoists finally got off Wednesday.
The party is discussing a political report of Chairman Prachanda as well as future political strategy amid a standoff to elect a prime minister to succeed Caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal who remains in office even two months after resigning under intense Maoist pressure.

The standoff will continue if UML and a front of four Madesh parties continue their policy to be neutral in the vote.
