Four vehicles smashed in the capital (DEVELOPING STORY)

Kathmandu, 15 Aug.: Four vehicles were vandalized in the capital Sunday as Janatatis and Adivashis demanded implementation of past accords with government to promote their demands.
Two dozen persons, including Mahashangh General Secretary Ang Kazi Sherpa were arrested as they also demanding promulgation of a delayed constitution.
Leaders charged government and parties for sidelining constitution drafting to protect their causes.
The strike inconvenienced 103,000 plus students appearing for supplementary examinations Sunday.
The strike disrupted normal life in other parts of the nation, including the Valley.

Body of dead Maoist lawmaker being airlifted Sunday

Kathmandu, 15 Aug.: The body of Ram Kumari Yadav, 55, is being airlifted to the capital from New Delhi Sunday, Maoists said.
The Maoist lawmaker died of third degree burns after a gas cylinder explosion Friday.
She was proclaimed dead Saturday in the Indian capital where she was evacuated for emergency treatment.

Nepal plays Italy in

Kathmandu, 15 Aug.: Nepal plays Italy Sunday in its second outing in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Division-IV match.
Rain washed out the opening match with USA at Pionara, Italy, Saturday.
The match will be replayed Monday.

Secret deal to revive monarchy

Kathmandu, 15 Aug.: RPP-Nepal parliamentary party leader Chandra Bahadir Gurung claimed Saturday that his party had struck a secret deal with UCPN (Maoist) to retain cultural monarchy, The Himalayan Times reports from Gorkha.
Talking to reporters in Gorkha Saturday, Gueung said RPP-Nepal had reached a secret man’s agreement with Maoists to keep a cultural king but it was yet to be inked.
‘Everything cannot be said now. When the time comes, all will come out,” he added.
