Voting starts for election of prime minister (DEVELOPING STORY)
Kathmandu, 6 Aug.: Parliamentary voting process for election of prime minister started at 3.20 in the afternoon Friday.
A proposal of elect Maoist Chairman Prachanda was first put to vote.
A candidate has to get a clear majority in the599-member legislature for election.
If the election is inconclusive, the candidature of NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel will then be put to vote.
The election is expected to be inconclusive forcing another runoff vote possibly on 18 August.
NC is involved in its general convention delaying the completion of the forcing the voting process for PM.
