CHINA WON’T INTERFERE, DOESN’T WANT OTHERS TO INTERFERE IN NEPAL: JHALANATH KHANAL

Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: China won’t interfere and asked others also not to interfere in Nepali affairs, visiting secretary at the secretariat of the central committee of the Communist Party of China said, according to UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal Sunday.
Khanal said this after discussions with a delegation led by He Yong at party headquarters.
“ We won’t interfere. Others shouldn’t interfere as well,” Khanal quoted He as saying.
On the second day of a six-day visit, the delegation met separately with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, President Dr Ram BaraanYadav and Khanal.

RAM CHANDRA PAUDEL JOINS SUSHIL KOIRALA CAMP

Kathmandu, 12 Sept. NC Vice-chairman and parliamentary party leader Ram Chandra Paudel Sunday joined the Sushil Koirala camp in the NC.
He announced the candidatures of Sushil Koirala as president, Prakash Man Singh as general secretary and Padma Narayan Chaudhary as treasure in elections at the 12 general convention in the capital from 17 to 21 September.
Paudel said he was neutral until Sunday.
Sher Bahadur Deuva and Bhim Bahadur Tamang was Sushi Koirala's rivals.

MAOIST, GOVT TALKS ON UNMIN FUTURE INCONCLUSIVE

Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: Talks Sunday between government and Maoists on the future of UNMIN whose tenure ends Wednesday’s future was inconclusive.
The two sides are discussing a six-point government to send a common request to the UN on its future after separate letters were sent by the government and the party with different perceptions.
The two sides are meeting again Monday.

THREE ARMS SMUGGLERS NABBED

Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: Three arms smugglers active in smuggling arms and ammunition across the open 1,700 km border were arrested in Kalanki Sunday.
They were active for 10 years, police said.
Two US pistols, three magazines and several rounds of bullets were recovered.
