FORMER KING WORSHIPS NINE FORMER KUMARIS (BREAKING NEWS)
Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: Former King Gyanendra and his son, former Crown Prince Paras, worshipped and interacted with nine former Kumaris or Living Goddesses at their residence in Nirmal Niwas after government intercepted their programme at Basantapur Tuesday.
The former Kumaris were driven to the Nirmal Niwas in seven taxis after conclusion of a felicitation programme at the city center.
Police deployed to restrict the movement of the then king, didn’t intervene when the former Living Goddesses entered Nirmal Niwas.
Hundreds of supported shouted pro-monarchy slogans outside the Gyanendra residence.

NC GENERAL COnVENTION CONCLUDES
Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: The five-day 12th general convention of the NC concluded Tuesday afternoon after election for 61 members of the central working committee concluded at five in the afternoon.
Votes were cast for the president, general secretary and treasurer as well.
Altogether 3,035 ballots were cast and 51 delegates didn’t participate mainly because they were sick or couldn’t come to the capital from districts to participate.
Counting of votes for president will start immediately.
A runoff to elect a president will be held Wednesday if three contenders for president don’t garner the required 50 percent vote.
A runoff will be determined by how many votes Bhim Bahadur Tamang gets Tuesday as the third candidate
Sushil Koirala and Sher Bahadur Deuba are the two leading contenders.

UML lawmaker Dol Bahadur Karki suspended
Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: UML lawmaker Dol Bahadur Karki was suspended from parliament Tuesday.
Speaker Subash Nemwang notified the party through a letter.
Karki was caught accepting a Rs 100,000 bribe to enlist a person in Nepal Police.

MAOISTS ASK PAUDEL TO WITHDRAW CANDIDACY
Kathmandu, 21 Sept.: Maoists standing committee Tuesday asked NC to withdraw candidacy of Ram Chandra Paudel for prime minister,
Paudel rejected such a request from UML and Maoists Monday.
The rejection means the 8th round vote for prime minister 26 September will also be inconclusive and the political deadlock will continue.
Speaker Subash Nemwang said a new process to end the two-month can’t proceed without the withdrawal of candidacies by Chairman Prachanda and Paudel.
