MAOISTS HEADING TOWARDS TOTALITARIAMILS; NC
Kathmandu, 16 Sept.: Nepali Congress has concluded Maoists, the biggest political party in the constituent assembly, is heading towards one party totalitarianism, Naya Patrika reports.
In the general secretary’s report to the five-day general convention of the party beginning Friday, the party concludes after establishing itself as the biggest party, Maoists have abandoned the politics of understanding and cooperation.
Unity and understanding are required between parties for peace and constitution drafting, but they have been sidelined by Maoists.
“Being the biggest party, the party has concluded, they have got the mandate to rule alone and attempting to impose one-party totalitarianism in a planned manner,” the report says.
Maoists have declared Congress, who brought them into the mainstream, the main enemy proving itself a dictator.
‘Because of two Congress stands, Maoists were ready to amend the interim constitution and create a post of president and abolish monarchy,” the report says.

UML effort to keep Maoists our of government
Kathmandu, 16 Sept. A group in the UML in preparing to bring a new proposal to end a deadlock to elect a prime minister by forming a coalition immediately without Maoists, Naya Patrika reports.
They will be included later in the group.
The proposal is being prepared by a group led by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
He proposal will be presented at the party politburo 20 September.
The present coalition will be retained wither under Congress or UML leadership by understanding.

SEARCH FOR HUMAN REMAINS SUSPPENDED
Kathmandu, 16 Sept. Search for human remains at a site along a river in Dhanusha has been suspended for sometime because of extreme heat, National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said Thursday.
Remains of three persons have been found.
A team of national and foreign forensic experts is searching for the remains of five Maoists allegedly killed by Nepal Army during the insurgency.
