MONTH-LONG MAOIST PUBLICITY CAMPAIGN

Kathmandu, 12 Sept.: Maoist central meeting Sunday decided to launch a month-long ‘publicity campaign’ for drafting a constitution, concluding the delayed peace process and nationalism, Spokesman Dinanath Sharma said after the committee meeting concluded.
The extended meeting decided to incorporate three suggestions of Chairman Prachanda and Vice-chairmen Kiran Baidya and Baburam Bhattarai in one document for approval by an expanded central meeting beginning 23 October.
The chairman has been given responsibility to incorporate the reports.
The central committee concluded a leaked audio tape conversation of leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara with an unidentified Chinese demanding Rs 500 million to buy votes in parliament for Prachanda, a candidate for prime minister, was ‘foreign interference.
A parliamentary probe has been demanded. [MORE)]
