UML LAWMAKER SUSPENDED FROM PARTY

Kathmandu, 19 Sept.: UML lawmaker Dor Bahadur Karki was suspended from the party Sunday following a decision of the party disciplinary committee.
He was caught red-handed taking Rs 100,000 from a person promising to push his appointment in police.
Karki played a prominent role on promoting the Cheetri cause.
He alleged anti-Bamdeb Gautam group in the party trapped him.

21 NC candidates withdraw candidacy (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 19 Sept.: Altogether 21 of 361 persons who filed nominations Saturday for 61 seats in the 85-member NC central working committee withdraw their candidacies Sunday.
Remaining members are appointed by the president.
District president presidents Sunday presented their views on the party’s police and programmes for the next five years.
The report was prepared by committee headed by Sher Bahadur Deuba—one of three presidential candidates.
Discussions will continue Monday.
The five-day 12th general convention concludes Tuesday.
Speakers Sunday said the party should take a lead in completing the peace process and constitution drafting, according to Krishna Prasad Shitaula.
