UML POLITBURO MEETING POSTPONED

Kathmandu, 9 Sept.: A scheduled UML politburo meeting Thursday to discuss new a party approach to end a stalemate to elect a successor of Caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was postponed.
General Secretary Inswor Pokhrel was suddenly admitted to hospital for treatment of an unspecified ailment.
No new date for the meeting has been announced.
A group led by KP Sharma Oli is pressing a change in party position to stay neutral in parliamentary vote and support NC and defeat Maoist candidate Chairman Prachanda.
A Maoist central committee meet Thursday to discuss three separate proposals of Prachanda, Baburam Bhattarai and Mohan Baidya for future party strategy was also postponed because of ‘inadequate homework’.
