PRACHANDA-LED TASK FORCE MEET INCONCLUSIVE
Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: A meeting of a seven-member task force led by Maoist Chairman Prachanda to recommend suggestions to Chairman Subash Nemwang to ways to resolve differences on 230 contentious points to be included in a delayed constitution was inconclusive Thursday.
The task force has to submit suggestions by Sunday.
The task force has top party leaders, including NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel and UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal as members.
“There was no agreement on major issues though there was agreement on one or two small points,” Ramesh Lekhak, former NC minister and member of a sub-committee to assist the task force said.
The task force was to discuss a proposed judicial structure Friday.
“Differences persist on a bilateral and unicameral structure,” Lekhak added.
Time is running our for the task force formed to facilitate constitution drafting.
A meeting of the sub-committee to prepare an agenda for the meeting of the task force Friday was also inconclusive.

RUSSIAN TOURIST DEAD
Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: A Russian tourist died when his boat capsized on Tamur river in Taplejung Friday but 10 other tourists were rescued.
Two of five boats capsized.
The adventure tourists were rafting to Chatara in Sunsari in the terai.

FORMER MINISTER CREMATED
Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: Former minister and member of Maoist advisory body Ambika Sawa was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat Friday after he died on kidney and other ailments last week.
Chairman Prachanda and other top Maoist leaders attended the cremation.

PRACHANDA SAYS CARFETAKER GOVT CAN’T BRING FULL BUDGET
Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: Maoist Chairman Prachanda adopted a tough stance and reiterated a caretaker government can’t present a full budget.
The leader of the main opposition repeated the p[arty position after the government Thursday decided to present a delayed annual budge in parliament in the next few weeks.
The move will ‘by anti-democratic” adding ‘no caretaker government anywhere has presented such a budget’.
The country is heading towards a financial crisis without the presentation of an annual budget even three months after the beginning of the fiscal year.
