PRESIDENT, CHINESE AMBASSADOR MEET

Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Friday discussed his visit to China beginning Tuesday with Chinese Ambassador Qiu Guobong, Shital Niwas said.
The president leaves for China to attend the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo.
Chairman Prachanda leaves Shanghai also to attend the closing ceremony.
The president’s China visit will be his second foreign tour.

UNMIN CHIEF MEETS PRACHANDA

Kathmandu, 21 Oct.: UNMIN Chief Karin Landgren
held discussions on the stalled peace process with Maoist Chairman Prachanda Friday as the political arm of the UN in Nepal prepares to withdraw 15 January 2011.
She urged Prachanda to conclude the delayed peace process before mid-January 2011.
Landgren also briefed the leader of the main opposition on a security council request Wednesday to government and political parties to conclude the peace process by mid-January saying failure could have serious repercussions.

MUSLIM BOY ABDUCTED

Kathmandu, 21 Oct. A three-year Muslim boy was abducted from Siraha district headquarters Lahan in continuing lawlessness in the south.
An armed gang of about three persons abducted him from home as he was asleep battering his mother.
