SEARCH FOR CHHEWANG NIMA SHERPA ABANDONED
Kathmandu, 25 Oct. A search for Chhewang Nima Sherpa, 43,who climbed the 8848 meters high Mount Everest, the world’s tallest peak, 19 times was abandoned Monday after another futile helicopter search around the 7,129 meter Baruntse where he went missing after an avalanche hit Saturday.
He was preparing a route to the summit for a team of predominantly British climbers.
A helicopter search with family members onboard was conducted for the second consecutive day Monday.
The expedition’s trekking agent Jeewan Ghimere said the search had been abandoned.

FINANCE MINISTER ASKS FOR DATE TO PRESENT FULL ANNUAL BUDGET
Kathmandu, 25 Oct.: Finance Minister Surendra Pandey Monday met Speaker Subash Nemwang and asked his to fix a date to present the delayed annual budget in parliament.
Nemwang returned to the capital Monday from Canada where he observed the country’s federal structure as Nepal opts for a federal state.
Officials warned the country was heading for a financial crisis amid a financial crunch without budget three months after the beginning of the fiscal year.
Officials said only Rs 8 billion remains in the current account to run the daily administration for the next several days.

NORWEGIAN APRECIATION
Kathmandu, 25 Oct.: Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg Monday praised Nepal’s success in reducing child mortality rate and improved maternal health to achieve the Millenium Development Goals (MDG).
A letter to Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal from his Norwegian counterpart was delivered by Norwegian Ambassador Thor Gislesen Monday.
Norway has asked Nepal for future plans to achieve MDG.
