TASK FORCE TO DISCUSS CONTENTIOUS POINTS FOR CONSTITUTION MEETS UNDER PRACHANDA

Kathmandu, 14 Oct.: A seven-member task force to discuss 230 contentious points for inclusion in a constitution to institutionalize a declared republic more than two years ago agreed in principle Friday to begin subject-wide discussions from Tuesday to narrow differences or remove differences.
The task force is coordinated by Maoist Chairman Prachanda and constituent assembly (CA) Chairman Subash Nemwang was present at Friday’s meeting.
Twenty-seven parties have fundamental differences on the points and constitution has been delayed for more than two years as a transitional prolongs..
The body was formed Thursday to give momentum to delayed constitution drafting.
Prachanda said after the meeting parties have a common commitment for progressive reforms based on past agreements, including the 12-point peace treaty and other agreements.

PRESIDENT ATTENDS PHULPATI CELEBRATIONS

Kathmandu, 14 Oct. President Dr Ram Baran Yadav Friday attended the traditional Phulpati celebrations organized by Nepal Army by Nepal Army Pavilion at Tundikhel.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and other state dignitaries also attended the programme.
Phulpati was taken to the Dasain Ghar at Hanuman Dhoka from Jamal in the capital after being brought from Gorkha.

AGNI AIR AIRCRAFT HITS BLUE BULL AT BHAIRAHAWA AIRPORT

Kathmandu, 14 Oct.: An Agni Air aircraft hit a blue bill while landing at Bhairahawa airport on a flight from the capital late Thursday afternoon.
All 31 passengers and crew were uninjured.
