THREE-PARTY MEET TUESDAY
Kathmandu, 5 Oct.; A summit meet of Maoists, NC and UML is being held Tuesday at the initiative of NC one day ahead of the 10th round of voting for prime minister Wednesday.
NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel in the only person in the race after Maoist Chairman Prachada withdrew from the contest.
Prachanda, who returned from Malaysia Tuesday said the refusal by NC to withdraw from the contest to begin a new process to elect a successor of Caretaker Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal who resigned nearly 100 days ago was against democratic and parliamentary practices.
He called the prolonged deadlock ‘useless, laughable and insulting’.
Prachanda said NC position was ‘against the country, peace and democracy’.
‘We’ll talk seriously to end the deadlock,” he sad.
The meet will discuss UML and Maoist request to NC to withdraw from the contest and the pre-conditions of NC for withdrawal.
The 10th round voting Wednesday is also expected to be inconclusive with the NC insisting Paudel won’t withdraw without agreement of a common package.
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal said in Biratnagar his replacement won’t be elected before Dahan that begins Friday.
He predicted a prime minister will be elected by majority vote in parliament,

BRITISH CONCERN
Kathmandu, 5 Oct. British Ambassador John Anthony Tucknott Tuesday expressed concern at the delay in drafting the constitution at a meeting with constituent assembly chairman Subash Nemwang.
They also discussed the election for prime minister and constitution drafting
The ambassador said he expressed ‘happiness at progress in the last few weeks.

ONE KILLED IN KAPILVASTHU
Kathmandu, 5 Oct.: Parsuram Yadav, 50, was killed overnight at a village in Kapilvastu.
He was killed by a group of armed men who decamped.
