TWO KILLED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION BETWEEN PASSENGER BUS AND TRUCK

Kathmandu, 22 Oct.: Two persons were killed and 18 others were injured, two seriously, overnight in a head-on collision between a stationary truck and a passenger bus at Piple in Chitwan.
The bus from the East was heading for the capital.

OUTBREAK OF DENGUE IN BUTWAL

Kathmandu, 22 Oct. Dengue has broken out in Butwal and adjoining areas, health officials said Friday.
Forty persons have tested positive.
The epidemic is spread by mosquitoes.
A health team is being rushed to the area from the capital.

PRACHANDA LEAVES FOR CHINA

Kathmandu, 22 Oct. Maoist Chairman Prachanda told reporters a meeting with top Chinese leaders hasn’t been confirmed although he didn’t rule out such a meeting before flying for Shanghai to attend the closing ceremony of the Shanghai Expo.
The Maoist chief said he’ll also visit during a four-day China visit.
‘In the past such meetings were fixed before departure,” he told reporters.
He blamed Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal for the current political deadlock after the government chief Thursday said despite utmost efforts a meeting couldn’t be arranged for five days with Prachanda to break the impasse.
