MORE DETAILS ON THAMEL SHOOTING

Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: Nima Lama of Baudha was robbed of Rs 400,000 after he cashed Rs 400,000 from the head office of Himalayan Bank Ltd at Thamel next of SAARC headquarters.
A gang shot and robbed him in the heart of the capital indicating the deteriorating law and order situation in the country and even the capital.
People are moving around the city freely with weapons—a disturbing tread.

MEET CONVENED BY PM INCONCLUSIVE

Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: A meeting convened by Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal Wednesday to try to end the current political deadlock was inconclusive for the second consecutive day.
The meeting Tuesday didn’t go into serious discussions as NC was busy with its parliamentary party meet.
The Big Three invited by PM Nepal agreed to meet again to end the impasse.
Maoists insisted at the meeting only a anew government can present a budget as the caretaker administration prepares to present one to prevent a looming financial crisis.
NC Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel insisted at the meeting a full budget should be presented by the incumbent caretaker government.

MAOIST OFFICE BEARERS’ MEET

Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: A hurriedly called meet of office bearers of Maoists Wednesday decided only a new government can present a full budget.
The meet endorsed the public position of the main opposition ahead of th 16th round vote for prime minister Thursday.
The vote in parliament will again be inconclusive with major parties sticking to their positions.
Maoist office bearers said a solution to the impasse is an amendment to the constitution.
The Maoist leaders said a constitutional council meet to fill vacancies in constitutional bodies can’t be taken by a caretaker government.

PRACHANDA TASK FORCE AGREES TO SINGLE CITIZENSHIP

Kathmandu, 3 Nov.: A Prachanda-led task force to speed up a constitution drafting process agreed in principle Wednesday to issue a single citizenship with provisional identity in a federal structure.
The high-powered body agreed no citizen will be deprived of citizenship.
The task force meets Thursday to work out details, the Maoist chairman said.
