FURTHER DETAILS ON PARAS SHAH (DEVELOPONG STORY)

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: Former Crown Prince Paras Shah is being charged Thursday under the public Offence Act 2027 at a government district office in Chitwan, Shiba Pandey, attorney for Shah said Thursday.
Chitwan district office is filing the charge sheet which Paras is expected to sign.
Pandey revealed in an interview with Avenues Television behind the scene negotiations are going on for the release of Paras on bail or surety.
A detention order for police investigation which ends Thursday could also be extended, Pandey said.
Pandey said his client denied firing Saturday at Chitwan Tiger Tops jungle lodge.
He quoted Paras as saying the then crown prince was celebrating his daughter’s birthday at a table in the restaurant with him family.
Pandey told the television network Ribel Chandhary, the son-n-law of Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, went to Shah’s table and started
using derogatory words which his client couldn’t tolerate and had to
be countered.
Protestors supporting Shah came out of the streets in Kalanki in the
capital.

SPECIAL COMMITTEE ASKS SECRETARIAT TO
COMPLETE WORK IN ONE MONTH

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: A special committee on integration, resettlement and supervision of 19,000 Maoist combatants Thursday directed its secretariat to complete a schedule to bring former combatants under it in one month.
The committee will meet again Friday.
The committee is headed by the prime minister.
UNMIN withdraws from Nepal 15 January 2011 with the peace process and integration in limbo even after four years.

LIMBUWAN HUNGRY FOR STATEHOOD

Kathmandu, 16 Dec.: The Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajya Parishad today organised 12-hour hunger strikes in nine districts of the eastern region to press the state to declare a separate Limbuwan state, The Himalayan Times reports from Dharan.

Addressing a programme after the strike in Dharan of Sunsari district, SLRP chairman Kumar Lingden accused the government of conspiring against the people of Limbuwan and threatened to bring what he called the ‘50,000-strong Limbuwan army and hundreds of thousands of people’ to the streets in support of Limbuwan.

Further on, Lingden went on to say that they will form a parallel government in the region if the government does not create a Limbuwan state, pledging to mobilise the Limbuwan army for security of the local people if the situation so demands.

Apart from Sunsari, the Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajya Parishad cadres staged hunger strikes in Morang, Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Sankhuwasabha, Dhankuta and Terhathum districts also.
