GOVT. SECURITY OFFICERS WITH SECRETARIAT VISIT MAOIST DIVISIONS

Kathmandu, 25 Dec.: Government security officials with the secretariat under the special committee for integration, supervision and resettlement of former Maoist combatants left for a three-day visit of Maoist third and fourth divisions at Chitwan and Nawalparasi.
Brig. Gen. Mahesh Bikram Karki, Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Kesh Bahadur Shahi of Armed Police Force and DIG Simha Bahadur Shrestha of Nepal Police are in the squad.
They will interact with the former fighters as government attempts to bring them under the command and control of the special committee.

DETAILS OF NC EXPENDITURE AT CONVENTION

Kathmandu, 25 Dec,: NC spent Rs. 27.13 million for its recently general convention in the capital.
The convention elected Sushil Koirala president.
The money was collected though donations, fees for registering
nominations, entry fees and bank interest, Coordinator for Finance Collection Committee Dip Kumar Upadhaya said.

ARMY CHIEF UNHAPPY WITH DEFENCE MINISTER

Kathmandu, 25 Dec.: Army Chief Gen Chatraman Singh Gurung is
unhappy with Defence Minister Bidya Bhandari, Naya Patrika
reports.
Last Monday, Bhandari met a tea of seven officers led by Kiran Bajracharya.
Such visits are disallowed without prior permission.
