NO PARLIAMENT SESSION WITHOUT GOVT. CONTROL OVER FORMER MAOISTS (NEWS UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 26 Dec. The cabinet Sunday decided it won’t summon a normal session of parliament demanded by Maoists and five other parties until former 19,000 plus PLA commandants are brought under the command and control of a special committee headed by the prime minister.
The government set the precondition even while earlier agreeing with Maoists to convene a normal parliament session within seven days last week.
The cabinet also decided not to renew the tenure of the UNMN which is preparing to leave 15 January 2011.
Maoist standing committee concluded Sunday the government pre-condition was a tactic to prolong its life.
A team led by coordinator of the secretariat headed by retired general Balananda Sharma began interacting with former Maoists combatants a Shaktikhor in Chitwan Sunday.
The team consists of party representatives as well.
Sharma said the camp was nearest to the capital explaining the team’s presence in Chitwan.

SUGAT RATNA KANSAKAR SUMMONED

Kathmandu, 26 Dec.: Chief Executive of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) Sugat Ratna Kansaakar was summoned Sunday to appear before the Kathmandu special court within 15days.
Five other top executives have also been summoned.
CIAA filed charges against them for irregularities in ordering two
Airbuses from the European manufacturer without board authorization.
Charges have been filed for recovery of Rs 57 plus million from them,
