PASCOE HOLDS DISCUSSIONS (ADD TO PREVIOUS STORY)

Kathmandu, 3 Dec.: UN Under Secretary-General for Political Affairs B. Lynn Pascoe Friday held separate discussions with leaders to prepare for a UNMIN pullout by 15 January2011.
He held talks with Officiating Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar, Deputy Prme Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, Acting UML Chairman Ashok Rai and members of the special committee on integration and resettlement of Maoist former fighters.
He held a meeting with ceremonial President Dr Ram Baran Yadav as well.
He returns Saturday after intensive discussions with leaders of Nepali society.
He arrived from India Saturday to discuss the progress in implementing the peace process as UNMIN prepares to close down Nepal operations in nearly four years.
‘Time is short he said’ to fully implement the peace process and integrate and resettle 19,000 Maoists.
But he added ‘time is sufficient’ to make compromises t ‘make decisions’.
Government asked UNMIN to leave behind physical infrastructure before departing.

MAOIST ARRESTED IN NEW DELHI

Kathmandu, 3 Dec, : Indian Zee TV reported Friday a Nepali Maoist has been arrested in New Delhi with counterfeit Nepali currency notes, 500 detonators and fuses.
The Nepali has been identified as Lok Nath.

Saturday.
Chivas Rigal of Scotland defeated Chitwan National Park for third
position.
Eight national and foreign teams participated.
