PRESIDENT SUMMONS PARLIAMENT 9 JANUARY

Kathmandu, 28 Dec.: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav, on the recommendation of the government has summoned parliament on 9 January.
The announcement came after Monday evening’s political consultations between Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and the president.
Ruling parties had asked the premier to call a normal session only after a collective political accord with main opposition Maoists—a demand Maoists said was an attempt to prolong the life of the government.
Nepal separately consulted leaders of the NC ad the UML and the Big Three Monday before convening the session.

KING BIRENDRA WAS PREPARING TO TACKLE EMERGENCY; INDIA TRAINED MAOISTS

Kathmandu, 28 Dec.: Assassinated King Birendra had prepared “Operation Baj” in separate options to tackle an emergency situation in the country and Indians trained Maoists , his former military revealed, according to Kantipur.
“Following some form of agreement with Maoists, the house of representatives would be dissolved and a roundtable with the agreement with political leaders would be held and a national government with Maoists would be formed, according to Birendra’s plan.
“His Majesty’s plan was to make the king’s role like in Great Britain or Japan’s emperor of India’s president by amending the constitution.
‘If this proposal wasn’t acceptable to Maoists, the king would use all
powers and disarm them and bring them into the political
mainstream, according to the king’s strategy and thought,” the aide said.
The 599 page ‘Maile Dhakako Darbar” by former ADC and Military Secretary Bibek Shah by is being released in public Wednesday.
The king empowered his brother Dhirendra and general Dilip
Rayamajhi to negotiate with Maoists, according to Shah.
The secret file of 2057 was given by the king to Shah for study.
“A plan had been prepared to monitor political leaders and their activities, Shah writes.
Former Army Chief Drarmapalbar Singh Thapa was being appointed field marshal to coordinate between all security agencies.
Shah believes China lent support to the plan during the king’s last China
visit in 2057, according to Kantipur.
The book says the king sought the support of USA and Great Britain.
Shah claims in his book India trained Maoists separately at a security facility
at Chakratau near Dehra Dun constructed by USA when contingent of Nepal’s Armed Police Force was also being trained.
Shah claims he was sacked by King Gyanendra following Indian
Pressure; Indians put pressure on the royal palace after learning
Shah came to know of Indians training Maoists, according to
Kantipur.
Shah claims Dipendra was being incited locally and by foreigners
to become king, according to Kantipur.
Birendra laws assassinated in a national and international plot,
according to Kantipur quoting Shah’s book.
