Kathmandu,27 Dec.: The tenure of Maj. Gen. Naresh Basnet was extended by the cabinet for two years Sunday.
He’s Chief of Military Development Special Directorate.
Dr. Ghambir Lal Rajbhandari has been promoted as major general and has been appointed military health director general to replace Dr. Suraj Shumshere Rana who retired.

Ani Choying Dolma honoured with Hononary Goodwill Ambassador NTY 2011

Kathmandu, 27 Dec.: Ani Choying Dolma known for her exceptional singing talent and admired by fans in Nepal and throughout the world for her soul touching songs and mantras has been honoured with Hononary Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal Tourism Year 2011, an announcement said
Prachanda Man Shrestha, CEO, Nepal Tourism Board handed over the certificate of Hononary Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal Tourism Year 2011 to Ms. Ani Choying Dolma Sunday.
Ani Choying Dolma said that she had been promoting Nepal in the international concerts that she regularly did requesting all to see and feel Nepal personally.
” Now I am honoured to have it and will do my best to promote Nepal Tourism Year 2011 internationally, “she said.
Earlier, Khagendra Thapa Magar, shortest man in the world, Prashant Tamang, former India Idol, Mr. Appa Sherpa, 20 times Everes climber were honoured as Hononary Goodwill Ambassador of Nepal Tourism Year 2011.

Besides being a nun and a singer, Ani Choying Dolma is involved in many philanthropic projects in Nepal. Her foundation known as Nuns Welfare Foundation (NWF) runs Arya Tara School, supports drinking water project at Setidevi village, biogas project and Kidney hospital of Nepal, Nepal Sports Dance Training Insitute Pvt. Ltd., Ama ko ghar etc. Known as singing nun, Ani Choying Dolma has more than a dozen of album to her credit including mantra, Nepali songs and Newari language songs
