BOMB DEFUSED IN THE CITY OUTSKIRT

Kathmandu, 7 Jan.: A socket bomb was defused Friday in front of the building of Manamaiju VDC in the capital’s outskirt by a bomb disposal team of Nepal Army.
A pamphlet of a secessionist group was found at the site.
Two bombs were defused at two different parts of the district this week.

UML district committee meet begins
Kathmandu, 7 Jan.: A UML district committee meeting, which is electing a new leadership, began in the capital Friday at the Khula maanch.
Supporters of the ruling party converged at the Khula Manch from different parts of the city for the official launch disrupting movement of vehicles,
Rivals Chairman Jhalanath Khanal and KP Sharma Oli, who flew back from New Delhi where he was attending a seminar on Nepal, returned to be present at the function.
The closed session begins Saturday.
Khanal and Oli factions are attempting to grab leadership of the district committee.
Senior party leader Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal was away in Kavre to attend another public function.
Nepal is behind with Oli in the intra-party struggle.
Both have adopted a strong anti-Maoist position in the party.
