PRESIDENT’S APPEAL
Kathmandi, 16 Jan.: President Ram Baran Yadav Sauday asked parties in parliament to form a government of national consensus by Friday.
Such a national government couldn’t be formed after Prime Minister Madhav Kimar Nepal resigned 30 June 2011.
NC and UML HAVEsaid have been saying a government led by Maosts won’t be acceptable to them until Maoists disarm and the party disbands its army.

PM, PRACHANDA MEET
Kathmandu, 16 Jan, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Maoist Chairman Prachanda held discussions Saturday to bring 19,000 plus former Maoist fighters under a special committee headed by the government chief.

QUAKE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Kathmandu, 16 Jan. A national awareness campaign is being held
Sunday to remember the devastating quake in l934 that claimed more thaan 34,000lives.

DR BABURAM BHATTARAI RETURNS
