PM-ELECT KHANAL TO INTENSIFY EFFORTS TO ASEMBLE GOVT.

Kathmandu, 4 Feb.: Prime Minister-elect Jalanath Khanal will intensify efforts to assemble a government Friday after being elected by parliament Thursday night to succeed caretaker government chief Madhav Kumar Nepal.
He’s expected to assume office formally Sunday.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was the first foreign leader to congratulate Khanal Thursday.
