UML DISSIDENT GROUP OPPOSES PARTY, MAOIST AGREEMENT (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: Following a decision of Maoists to join the government led by UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal Tuesday morning, a dissatisfied group met in Bhaktapur to prepare a strategy to foil a deal between chairmen of the two largest communist parties to capture state power.
The UML dissident group is led by former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Oli demanding amendments to a secret seven-point agreement between Khanal and Maoist Chairman Prachanda .
The dissident group, close with the NC, is demanding amendments in the seven-point agreement as requested by the UML standing committee which Khanal bypassed.

PARLIAMENT APPROVES BUDGET ORDINANCC BY MAJORITY (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav Tuesday
evening approved a budget through ordinance for the remaining five months of the current fiscal year after approval by parliamentary
majority.
A financial crisis was averted with the parliamentary approval.

POKHARA INDUSTRIAL ESTATE CLOSED DOWN

Kathmandu, 15 Feb.: Pokhara industrial estate was closed down by striking workers Tuesday indefinitely.
About 3,000 employees of more than four dozen industries are
demanding a pay hike.
