DEVOTEE PIERCES TONGUE DURING BISKET JATRA

APPEAL FOR COMPLAINTS AGAINST CHIEF JUSTICE NOMINEE

Kathmandu, 15 April: Parliament Friday asked for public complaints to be
lodged against chief justice nominee Khil Raj Regmi by Wednesday.
A parliamentary committee will scrutinize the complaints for
his confirmation recommended by the judicial council.
Regmi, if confirmed, will succeed Ram Prasad Shrestha who retires 5 May..
The new chief justice will be in office for more than three years.

JUJU BhAI SHRESTHA PIERCES TONGUE FOR THIRD
CONSECUTIVE YEAR

Kathmandu, 15 April: Juju Bhai Shjrestha pierced his tongue for the
third time in three consecutive year during Bisket jatra in Bhaktapur Friday.
Shrestha prepared himself for the procedure after staying in a fast.
The festival started during theLicchavi rule.

THINLEY, KHANAL TALKS (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 15 April: Visiting Bhutanese Prime Minister Jigme Y, Thinley . hheld talks with his Nepali counterpart Jhalanath Khanal Friday.
They discussed regional and bilateral issues.
Bhutan agreed to a negotiated settlement of the return of remaining 60,000 refugees home in no breakthrough as Nepal demanded their return home immediately.
Thinley held courtesy talks with President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.
