INDIA ACCORDS INFORMAL TREATMENT TO FOREIGN MINISTER VISIT

INDIAN FOREIGN MINISTER HOLDS TALKS IN INFORMAL MANNER WITH TOP DIGNITARIES (UPDATE)

Kathmandu, 20April: Visiting Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna Wednesday held discussions in a very informal manner with Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, his immediate host Deputy Prime Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari and President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav.
The functioning style of the minister gave the impression India wasn’t giving the visit of the senior most Indian dignitary to Nepal an official status after installation of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal 3 February.
Krishna held talks with the prime minister and the president dressed with a pant, coat ad open shirt.
Krishna and Adhikari first held bilateral talks in an informal manner at a hotel in the capital aided by officials.
They discussed enhancing bilateral trade investment and security, Foreign Secretary Madan Kumar Bhattarai said.
Krishna said the delay in concluding the peace process was causing security problems along the border.
A verbal invitation was extended to Khanal to visit India.

TWO LAWMAKERS REMANDED TO JUDICIAL CUSTODY

Kathmandu, 20 April: Lawmakers Gayatri Sah and BP Yadav Wednesday were remanded to four-day judicial remand by Kathmandu district court.
Police had demanded 15-day remand to prepare charges against them for misuse of diplomatic or red passports.
They were arrested Tuesday.

NEPAL POLICE CLUB DEFEATED 2-0

Kathmandu, 20April: Nepal Police Club lost of Pakistan’s Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) 2-0 in the first match of the AFC President’s Cup Group C qualifying match Wednesday.
Taiwan Power Company and Balkan FC, Turkmenistan drew their match 1-1.
