MAIN OPPOSITION TO LAUNCH CAMPAIGN

NC TO LAUNCH NATIONAL CAMPAIGN FOR PEACE AND LOKTANTRA

Kathmandu, 15 April: Main opposition NC central committee Friday decided
to launch a national campaign as pressure for ‘peace and loktantra’ from 24 May coinciding with Loktantra Divas.
Central leaders will address district meetings.
Sher Bahadur Deuba Friday presented suggestion for peace process and
procedures and the committee meeting Saturday will hold discussions in it.
Nearly 700 Deuba supporter staged a sit-in at party headquarters to oppose a
decision to dissolve the central committee of Nepal Students’ Union demanding abrogation of the decision.

MAOIST STANDING COMMITTEE MEET

Kathmandu, 15 April: A standing committee of Maoists to select remaining
members of its government team was adjourned until Saturday amid intra-party
tussle between three factions to get their representatives into government.
Tussleis between factions of Chairman Prachanda and Vice-chairmen Mohan
Baidya and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
