NC FORMS ANTI-GOVERNMENT FRONT WITH NO MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT

UPDATE ON MADESH FRONT DEMANDS

Kathmandu, 26 April: Three parties of the Madesh Front will hold anti-government protests in six places in the terai they said after a joint meeting Tuesday.
The front said the government didn’t implement and fulfill assurances of regional demands presented to Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
The parties said they’ll oppose any plans to extend the tenure of a constituent if a second 28 May deadline isn’t met and demanded completion of the peace process and a basic law announcement by then.
The front is holding anti-government at six places in the south.

NINE PARTIES , INCLUDING NC,FORMANTI-GOVERNMENT ALLIANCE

Kathmandu, 26 April: Nine parties, including main opposition NC, Tuesday forged an anti-government alliance protesting UML opting to form a government with Maoists.
A meeting that launched the front was chaired by NC President Sushil Koirala at a meeting at NC headquarters in the capital.
The parties said the UML/ Maoist commitment to peace ad constitution was a farce.
The parties protested plans to announce a complete budget 9 May ahead of the end of the of the fiscal year 2010/11 as objectionable.
NC, three Madesh parties, RPP, RJP, CPN (ML) and another party are in the front.
Three Madesh party front, RPP and RJP leaders held political discussions in New Delhi where they held top discussions with Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on internal Nepal politics.
NC formed the front after an attempt to patch up differences with Koirala and rival Sher Bahadur Deuba to oppose a communist majority government after the just concluded visit of Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna.

Kathmandu, 26April: Election Commission Tuesday gave formal recognition to CPN (MC Samajbadi) of Jagan Bahadur Bogati,
The party with four members in parliament split from CPN (ML) of CP Mainali.

MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEETS WEDNESDAY UPDATE

Kathmandu, 26 April: Nine more Maoist central committee members will present their views at the central committee meeting Wednesday.
They will present their views of concepts of Chairman Prachanda and Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya for future party strategy to achieve a communist state.
