RESIGNATION OF RAMESHWOR KHANAL ACCEPTED

Kathmandu, 13 April: The resignation of Finance Secretary Rameshwor Khanal was accepted Wednesday by the cabinet.
Khanal resigned amid differences with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari over a proposed supplementary budget for the remaining three months of the current fiscal year,
Khanal, a relative of Adhikari, charged the new minister for attempting to announce a budget without involving the finance ministry institutionally.
The charge embarrassed the government and plans for a supplementary budget were aborted.
Government is adopting other methods to bring such a budget.

Kathmandu, 13 April: Prakish Jwala was appointed Wednesday chide political advisor of embattled Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
Jwala was appointed by the cabinet.
