US PEACE CORPS TO RETURN TO NEPAL
UNHCR DEPUTY CHIEF ARRIVES MONDAY
Kathmandu, 16 April: UNHCR Deputy Chief Kyung-wha Kang arrives Monday for a three-day visit for discussions with government representatives, officials of
NHRC and civil society, , an announcement said.
She will address parliament’s international relations and human rights committee.

Kathmandu, 16 April: US Peace Corps will return to Nepal after seven years, Republica reports from Washington.
Deputy Prime Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari and Peace Corps Director Aron William reached a decision, the newspaper said.
‘The US is sending an assessment team soon,” Nepali Ambassador Dr. Shanker
Sharma said.
The US withdrew the volunteers after insecurity in the districts and the murder
of a Nepali security official with the embassy and a bomb attack on the American Cultural Center during the Maoist insurgency.
