Kathmandu, 2 May: National soccer governing body ANFA Sunday banned Kundup Lama, Abhishek Lama, Biplav Shah, Basant Tamang and Namgel Gurung for one year from competition with immediate effect.
Three Star Manager Mahesh Regmi was banned for one year for conducting managerial responsibilities while the team was fined Rs. 25,000 for fielding players over 14 years in the 1 March Nepal Bank Junior U-14 A Division League tournament.
Mahindra Bansbari Club lodged a complaint.

MAOISTS ASKED TO PRIORITIZE PEACE





Kathmandu, 2 May Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala on Sunday urged the Maoists to accord first priority to the conclusion of peace process and writing of the constitution., The Rising Nepal reports from Jhapa.
Speaking at a press meet organized by Jhapa Chapter of Press Union, Koirala complained that the Maoists were not sincere to conclude the peace process and to write new constitution. He urged the former rebels to correct their approach and activities.
The NC chief said that the Maoist decision to join the peace process was positive but political parties would not be assured if they fail to implement the earlier peace agreements.
Koirala said that the Maoists should implement the Comprehensive Peace Agreement to win the confidence of political parties. He stressed that the unity among the parties were essential to conclude the peace mission of nation.
"It’s the call of the time to draft the democratic constitution. NC will never accept any anarchist constitution in the name of people’s constitution," Koirala said.
Koirala said that if Maoists implemented the past agreements and returned the seized property, the constitution drafting procedure could be easily concluded.
Meanwhile, our correspondent from Inaruwa writes: NC leader Sujata Koirala said that there was no alternative to the national unity government.
She said that the present government was the UML-Maoist coalition but there was the need of all-party unity government.
Pointing out that the country was passing through a transition, Koirala said "Consensus among the political parties can only save the country from big crisis."
Addressing a programme organized by non-governmental organization at Shreepur, Sunsari, she said that if the Maoists succeeded to take the peace process to a logical end, they would win praise from international community.
Koirala said that the constitution and peace process was in dilemma and the UML should strive for national unity government.
Responding to a query of a journalist, she noted that Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal should be prepared to quit for the national consensus government.
"If the peace process is not taken to a logical end within 25 days, the Maoists will be finished off," said Koirala.

PRACHANDA APPEAL TO ACTIVISTS TO COME OUT ON STREETS AFTER 28 MAY





Kathmandu, 2 May: UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ Sunday said that his party was struggling and committed to ensure the rights and welfare of the workers, The Rising Nepal reports.
"Workers are the real base of national development as well as they are of the revolution. And our party has been fighting to guarantee their rights," the chief of a major ruling party said addressing 122nd May Day rally organised by All Nepal Federation of Trade Unions (ANFTU), the Maoists’ mass organisation.
Reaffirming that his party had always been working to conclude peace and constitution writing process and it had lately intensified its effort for the same, the chairman of the largest party warned of massive movement after May 28 if the conspiracy against peace and constitution succeeded before the deadline for the promulgation of the new constitution by the Constituent Assembly (CA).
"I appeal all the parties, those in the CA and those out of it, to understand our party’s last efforts for building peace and constitution as desired by people and help to conclude the process. If our honesty, our sense of responsibility to the nation and people is understood as our weakness and the conspiracy to dissolve the CA before May 28 is translated, I urge all the workers to come to the street on May 29," Prachanda said at the Bhrikutimandap where ANFTU’s rallies starting from different corners of the city conglomerated into a mass meeting.
Touching upon factionalism in ANFTU, Prachanda said, "We have been probing into bitter events pertaining to workers’ and we will take appropriate actions accordingly."
"We have already fought for ten years with arms and five years for peace and new constitution and we are ready to fight for fifty years for the sovereignty of the nation, but we will never bow down," said chairman Parchanda.
Likewise, party secretary Posta Bahadur Bogati, said that the unity among the workers was a must for the establishment of national sovereignty.
Addressing the programme, former president of ANFTU Salik Ram Jamarkattel emphasised on the importance of workers struggle to foil any conspiracy to divide the
workers and the trade unions.
Former vice-chairman of ANFTU Badri Bajgain and leader Lal Dhoj Nemwang also emphasized that the unity among all the workers was the need of the hour.
