SABINA DAMAI COLLECTS CITIZENSHIP CERTIFICATE
Kathmandu, 27 May: Sabina Damai, 18, daughter of an unwed mother , collected her citizenship Thursday from Charikot, Dolakha district headquarters after a long historic legal battle.
CDO Ganesh Prasad Bhattarai handover over the document to Sabina, a SLC graduate; her mother is a labourer in Lalitpur.
The supreme court delivered a judgment asking Dolakha
district office to issue the certificate previously rejected by the office.
“The feat was achieved after a long struggle,” she said.
Certificate is traditionally issued against citizenship of a father.

NEPALI FAMILY ON GROUND SURVIVES PLANE CRASH NEAR INDIAN CAPITAL
Kathmandu, 27 May: Twenty-seven year old Nepali mother Asha Gurung and her 11-year-old son Nipan, who originally hail from Pokhara, miraculously escaped when the single plane crashed on the roof of their rented house, Ram Kumar Kamat reports in the Himalayan Times from Faridabad in New Delhi’s outskirts.
But three members of the landlord’s family were killed in the incident.
Asha’s husband Nishani had gone out for a stroll.
Asha, who is expecting in eight weeks, fell down the staircase but escaped with minor injury.
