CHETRI SAMAJ CLOSES DOWN THREE ANCHALS IN THE WEST
Kathmandu, 11 May: Chetri Samaj demanding promulgation of a constitution ensuring rights of the country’s biggest ethnic group Wednesday closed down Gandaki, Lumbini and Dhaulagiri anchals in the West.
Schools and industries were shut as normal life came to a halt.
Five activists were arrested in Bhairahawa.
The Samaj has the support of Brahmins.
Samaj is demanding including of Chetris in the indigenous list.

UML LAWMAKER HANDS OVER FINGERPRINTS, SIGNATURE TO POLICE
Kathmandu, 11 May: ULM lawmaker Narad Muni Rana Tuesday handed over five sets of his fingerprints and signatures to police which is investigating possible misuse of his diplomatic passport.
Rana sent the specimens to police through parliament secretariat.
Two lawmakers, including a woman, from terai have been charged for misuse of diplomatic passports and CIAA suspects involvement of six other terai legislators who charge the anti-grant body for assassinating their character.

BOMB IN TULSIPUR BUS PARK
Kathmandu, 11 May: A bomb was found Wednesday morning at the Tulsipur in Dang spreading panic in the far-West town.
An army bomb disposal team is defusing the bomb.

AUSTRALIAN ASSISTANCE
Kathmandu, 11 May: Australian Tuesday gave Nepal a Rs. 3.46 billion assistance for the health and education sectors.
“This follows Australia’s signing of the joint financing arrangement for Nepal’s health sector programmes 2010/2015 last month,” an announcement said.

US NATIONAL FOUND DEAD
Kathmandu, 11 May: US national Tayler Anbrew Wisser, 40, was found dead Tuesday morning at a hostel of community center n Kalalni.
He arrived in Nepal 28 April.
Police recovered 15 ecstasy tablets and used syringe from his room.

KESHAB KHADKA APPOINTED IN NBL
Kathmandu, 11 May: Keshab Khadha has been appointed coordinator of Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) by Nepal Rashtra Bank.
He succeeds Pushkar Raj Rajkarnikar who resigned.
The central bank is also conducting a diagnostic review of the country’s first commercial bank.
