DECISION TO EXTEND ASSEMBLY TENURE CHALLENGED

Kathmandu, 8 June: Last Sunday’s decision by the Big Three and parliament to extend the tenure of the constituent assembly by another three months was challenged at the supreme court Tuesday.
Bharat Jangam and senior advocate Bal Krishna Neupane challenged the legality of the decision.
They contend the assembly term can be extended in an emergency.

BIDYA PANDEY OF UML ELECTED IN ILO BODY

Kathmandu, 8 June: Bidya Pandey of UML has been unanimously elected deputy member of ILO governing body for a three-year term.
Laxman Basnet of NC was its member for 12 years.
