NEPAL LANDMINE FREE FROM TUESDAY

NEPAL BEING DECLARED LANDMINE FREE

Kathmandu, 14 June: The last landmine laid by Nepal Army during the 10-year Maoist insurgency is being cleared Tuesday at Phulchoki amid a special ceremony attended by Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
Phulchoki, is the tallest hill overlooking the Valley in the south.
Nepal Army laid 257 mines at 53 locations during the conflict to protect facilities, installations and barracks fro rebel attacks..
Nepal will be declared landmine free Tuesday.
