Kathmandu, 15 June; Annual monsoon broke over Nepal, an official announcement said Wednesday.
The pre-monsoon was good.
A good monsoon will help the national economy with timely transplant of paddy, Nepal’s main staple crop.

NEPAL,US MILITARY EXERCISE TO MANAGE HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE ENDS

Kathmandu, 15 June: Four-day Nepal-US Military Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Management Table Top Exercise concluded in the capital Wednesday.
The exercise was jointly organized by Nepal Army and Marine Force Pacific under US Pacific Command
Defence Minister Bishnu Paudel formally announced the end of the exercise.
The exercise discussed preparedness to combat national disasters, including earthquakes and floods.

FOUR MISSING, TWO INJURED IN BAILEY BRIDGE COLLAPSE

Kathmandu, 15 June; Four persons are missing and two were injured when a motor able bailey bridge under construction across Marshyangdhi river collapsed in Lamgunj in the western region Wednesday .
Other details weren’t immediately available.
Search and rescue operations have been hampered with the rising water level in the river during monsoon.
