28 EMPLOYEES OF GARMENT FACTORY FORCIBLY RESCUED IN MORANG
Kathmandu, 15 June: Twenty-eight employees of Surya Garment held by workers were forcibly freed by police Wednesday at Tankeshwori in Morang.
Workers demanding wages withheld by management when they were on strike held the employees of the factory in the premises.
Nearly 40 policemen and workers were injured, five seriously, in police baton charge and lobbying of teargas shells.

PUBLIC MEETINGS, DEMONSTRATIONS BANNED IN BIRATNAGAR
Kathmandu, 15 June: Public meetings and demonstrations have been banned in Biratnagar from Thursday morning as local authorities announced a prohibitory order on the industrial city
The order was issued after rival groups including the Youth Force, affiliated with ruling UML, announced protest programmes in the town Thursday.
Youth force has been charged for a murderous assault in the town this month on a reporter with a national newspaper amid charges government and the party leading the government was protecting activists of the Youth Force accused for involvement
Journalists staged protests nation-wide Wednesday protesting the assault.

GOVT., CHURE BHAVAR TALKS INCONCLUSIVE
Kathmandu, 15 June: Talks between a ministerial government team and Chure Bhavar were inconclusive Wednesday.
Another round of talks will be held 29 June.
The party called off a three-day continuous strike Wednesday amid assurances government would meet its13-point demands.
