ALL CAMPUSES UNDER TU CLOSED DOWN

Kathmandu, 19 June; Employees of Tribhuvan University (TU) shot down all
campuses under it Sunday.
They were protesting last week’s police entry into Shanker Deb Campus
in the capital last week and attack on students .
TU employees said a promised investigation into the police entry and assault on students haven’t been initiated
Students were demanding the release of UML youth leader Mahesh Basnet as the activists of the party leading the government came out on the street in a show of force as others demanded the murderous assault on a reporter in Biratnagar by UML district youth leaders.
Basnet has implicitly admitted he is sheltering his colleague wanted for investigation into the attack on the reporter.

TWO BROTHERS SWIMMING IN NAWALPARASI MISSING

Kathmandu, 19 June: Two brothers aged eight and 11 years are missing at Gaidajot in Nawalparasi since Saturday as they were swimming in a river.
A search has been launched.

EVEN A COMPLETE BUDGET THROUGH ORDINANCE AN ALTERNATIVE

Kathmandu, 19 June: Preparations are afoot to even bring an ordinance through ordinance even as the government attempts to form a government of understanding, Sujit Mahat and Gokarna Abasthi write in Kantipur.
Concluding an economic crisis has been triggered by the untimely presentation of the budget, sources close to the finance minister said all alternatives are to bring the budget on time are being considered
Deputy Prime Minister an Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari is holding discussions with all party leaders to announce the budget on time.
“The budget will be announced through the normal process if an understanding is reached before 23 June. Otherwise, it will be announced through an ordinance,” a source said.
