NO MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET AGAIN THURSDAY
Kathmandu, 14 July: As expected UCPN (Maoist) central committee meeting wasn’t held Thursday amid public deep intra-party differences in an once disciplined, monolithic and organized party,’ Nepal’s biggest which is also communist.
The failure to convene the meeting indicates deep personal and ideological differences that have come out in public.
Some Maoist leaders even talk of a possible split.
Chairman and strongman Prachanda’s leadership has been challenged amid calls for distributing and sharing responsibilities A faction has even proposed Vice-chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai should head a government instead of the party boss.
A scheduled central committee meeting couldn’t meet even after 19 days Wednesday because of the differences.

PRIME MINISTER, PRESIDENT, FOREIGN MINISTER SEPARATELY CONDOLE MUMBAI BLASTS AND DEATHS UPDATE
Kathmandu, 14 July: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal, President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav condoled deaths s in Wednesday’s serial bomb blasts in separate messages to their Indian counterparts Thursday.
The home ministry condemned and blasts and condemned the deaths caused by the blasts.
Home Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara has convened a meeting of a national security committee Friday to review overall security in neghbouring Nepal following the Mumbai blasts.
Nepal has an open 1,700 km border wih India.

FURTHER DETAILS OF BUDGET ANNOUCEMENT DELAY
Kathmandu, 14 July: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari asked for the help of everybody Thursday to preset the delayed budget Friday at one in the afternoon in parliament.
‘Peace, constitution and understanding are the current issues,” he said and they had been addressed in the budget.
He called for an understanding before Friday’s presentation of the delayed budget document.
“I request all for help with folded hands,” Adhikari said.
