UML NATIONAL WORKSHOP IN DHULIKHEL 23 JULY

Kathmandu, 19 July: UML central committee will meet only after the after a two-day national workshop at Dulikhel from 23 July.
A meeting of the standing committee after the Dulikhel meet will set the central committee’s agenda and date,

PRACHANDA DICUSSIONS WITH SUSHIL KOIRALA, PM KHANAL

Kathmandu, 19 July: Chairman Prachanda held discussions with man opposition NC President Sushil Koirala Tuesday morning.
Prachanda drove to the Koirala residence for the discussion on the political deadlock, concluding the delayed peace process and constitution drafting.
Maoist chief Prachanda and Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal discussed peace process and constitution drafting at a meeting Monday
They discussed concluding the peace process soon.
PM Khanal asked Prachanda to convene a meeting of a task force headed by the Maoist to discuss resolution on contentious points to be incorporated in a constitution.
A tripartite five-point deal between UML Maoists main opposition NC extended the constituent assembly tenure three months after 28 May on condition that the peace process would be concluded in the extended period.
Such progress hasn’t been recorded.
Prachanda informed Khanal Maoists will send a new team to government.
The two party chiefs of the ruling parties discussed current political situation aswell, PM’s press aide Surya Thapa said.
with a clear roadmap on the peace process and constitution writing, Thapa said.

SUMMONS ISSUED UML YOUTH LEADER PURUSOTTAM BASNET

Kathmandu, 19 July: Morang district court issued summons to absconding UML youth leader Purusottam Basnet to presnt himself at the court in 70 days.
Basnet has been charged for a murderous attack on Biratnagar journalist Khilanath Khanal who survived with serious injuries.
The ruling party has been charged for shielding Basnet.
The court warned Basnet’s assets will be siized if he doesn’t report to court in 70 days,

NEPALFOR FIRST TIME TO MEASURE MOUNT EVEREST HEIGHT

Kathmandu, 19 July: Government for the first time has started work to measure the height of Sagarmatha or the 8848 meters high Mount Everest, an official government announcement said,

GHARIAL POPULATION UP

Kathmandu, 19 July: Gharial population in Nepal has increased to 102, a fresh census report says according to a published report Tuesday.
The population was 81 in 2008.
