RESPONSIBILITY FOR CLEANING BAGMATI TO BE GIVEN TO ARMY
MORE DETAILS OF MAOIST LOBBYING AGAINST CHAIRMAN PRACHANDA
Kathmandu, 12 July: Maoist Vice-chairman Narayan Kazi Shrestha said he discussed ‘unity, change and a successful outlet’ with three other top leaders in the UCPN (Maoist) Tuesday.
Shrestha held joint discussions with Vice-Chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and General Secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa and separately with another Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya.
The party central committee meets Wednesday after 19 days.
Sixty-five central members were present at a joint meeting of Bhattarai and Baidya to lobby against Chairman Prachanda.

TWO GIRL CHILDREN DEAD AFTER BEING SWEPT AWAY BY A RIVER IN RAUTAHAT
Kathmandu, 12 July: Two girl children died after being swept away by a swollen river in Rautahat Tuesday.
Three other children were rescued.

MAOISTS AGAIN BOYCOTT SPECIAL COMMITTEE MEET
Kathmandu, 12 May: Maoist representatives again boycotted a scheduled special committee meeting for integration, resettlement and supervision Maoists 19,000 plus former Maoist combatants.
The prime minister heads the committee in which representatives of other major parties are also represented.
The committee hasn’t come to important decisions after repeated boycott of the committee meetings by Maoists.
The schedule for integration has been delayed as only 45 more days remain to complete the peace process and promulgate a constitution to institutionalize a declared republic.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR CLEANING BAGMATI TO BE ENTRUSTED TO NA
Kathmandu, 12 June: Government is preparing to give responsibility for cleaning Bagmati river to Nepal Army (NA), Bishnu Subedi reports in Annapurna Post.
The project includes the cleaning of the river and effective management of the Valley’s roads and drainage system.
Discussions are being held between the prime minister, finance minister, defence minister, concerned ministers and officials.
