UML NATIONAL CONVENTION STARTS SATURDAY

Kathmandu, 23 July: A two-day UML national convention begins later Saturday in Dhilikhel Saturday to discuss an agenda for a national central council and amendment of a party statute amendment.
Nearly 200 delegates, including chairmen of 75 districts are participating.
A faction led by former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and KP Sharma Oli is expected to challenge the leadreship of Jhalanath Khanal in government and party.

SEVEN DEAD IN CAR PLUNGE

Kathmandu, 23 July: Seven persons died, including three members of a family, when a jeep plunged into Kaligandaki river in Myagdhi Friday
The jeep was heading for Beni when it plunged 50 meters off the highway into the river near Arthungey VDC in Myagdhi .
