UML REJECTS NEW MAOIST GOVT. TEAM

Kathmandu, 25 July: A meeting of top Maoist leaders, including Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal, who is also chairman of the UML and Maoist Chairman couldn’t agree on the replacement of the Maoist team in government Tuesday.
Maoists decided to send a 24-member new team headed by Vice-chairman Narayan Kazi Shrestha.
UML standing committee decided earlier Monday the replacement one, month before the extended tenure to the constituent wouldn’t hemp complete a five-point tripartite agreement between the Big Three—Maoists, UML, and main opposition NC to form a national government.
Shrestha said the new Maoist team wouldn’t obstruct the five-point agreement envisioned in the tripartite agreement.
Khanal had agreed to step down to pave the way for implementing the agreement.
Maoists and UML are meeting again Wednesday to come to an agreement.

EX-DIG HAMAN FREED WITHOUT BAIL
Kathmandu, 25 July: The special court Tuesday sent to jailed former DIG Deepak Kumar who failed to settle a Rs.7.5 million bail along with SP Sanjaya Singh Basnet who failed to settle a Rs. 4 million bail.
along with SP Sajaya Singh Basnet who didn’t settle a Rs. 4 million bail.
They were charged in the Rs. 280 million Sudan scam by CIAA.
But the court freed former DIG Tapendra Dhwoj Hamal without any bail.

NC DISRUPTS HOUSE PROCEEDINGS

Kathmandu, 25 July: Main opposition NC Tuesday disrupted parliament proceedings demanding resignation of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal
Speaker Subash Nemwang adjourned the house until Wednesday without conducting any business.
NC central committee earlier directed the party parliamentary party to demand Khanal’s resignation.
