FURTHER DETAILS OF DR. BHATTARAI ELECTION

Kathmandu, 28 Aug. Prime Minister-elect Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said peace process, constitution and relief to people will be his government’s priority immediately after election by majority in parliament Sunday.
‘The government’s priority will be peace process, constitution and relief to the people in that order of priority,” he said.
‘Sense of despondency prevails. People feel all parties are the same, Nothing will happen,” Bhattarai said calling for support of lawmakers before the vote.
“There’s no alternative to national understanding. Let’s get together for understanding,” Bhattarai said while asking for support in parliament.
The third Maoist leader was elected in the 2008 constituent assembly from constituency No.2 in Gorkha with the highest number of votes.
Bhattarai was finance minister in the nine-month government of Prachanda before Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Bhattarai was a board topper in the 2036 SLC examination.
RPP-Nepal and Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party of Bhaktapur led by Narayanman Bijukakchaya abstained in parliamentary vote.
Lawmakers couldn’t abstain or stay neutral in voting according to a provision in an amended parliamentary procedure to ensure an outcome in voting.
Bhattarai was born June 1954 and completed schooling from Gorkha and graduated from Amrit Schience College in the capital..
He has a daughter and is married to Hishila Yami.
