NC, MADESHBADI PARTIES AGREE TO COOPERATE AND WORK OUT DIFFERENCES

NC, MADESH FRONT AGREE TO COOPERATE

Kathmandu, 8 Aug.: Amid a fluid political situation, NC and a front of five Madeshbadi parties agreed Monday to cooperate and sort out differences between them.
Agreement after consultations Monday morning between top NC and Loktantrik Madeshbadi Front
President Sushil Koirala led by NC team which included Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel and senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.
MJFL Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar, MJFN (Republican) Chairman) Jayaprakash Prasad Gupta, MTLP Chairman Mahanta Thakur and NSP leaders were also in the Madesh front team.
They discussed common stance on peace process and constitution drafting.
The meeting came one day after NC opted for seven provinces in a federal structure and assurance from Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal to resign this week if the peace process isn’t concluded.

STUDENTS CLOSE DOWN KANCHANPUR

Kathmandu, 9 Aug.: A struggle committee forced the closure of Kanchanpur for three days from Monday charging government for ignoring demands for establishment of a university in the far-West, including its vice-chancellor.
Past protests were violent.

TRUCK MISSING IN TRISULI RIVER IN CHITWAN.

Kathmandu, l9 Aug.: A search has been launched for a truck fell into Trisuli river in Chitwan; the truck was heading for the capital from Narayanghad.
Three persons were rescued when it fell 150 feet off the road into the river..
It wasn’t known how many people were in the truck
