PROCESS FOR SUNDAY’S PM ELECTION STARTS FRIDAY
Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: Process for Sunday’s election of prime minister by majority vote in parliament begins with registration of candidacy of aspirants at parliament for five hours of candidates from 11 in the morning to four in the afternoon Friday.
Final list of candidates will be publihed 30minutes after time for nominations close.
NC’s Ram Chandra Paudel and Maoist Vice-chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai are the only two candidates so far.
A consensus candidate couldn’t be nominated by parliament in 10 days allotted by President Dr.Ram BaranYadav..

NEPALPROPOSES POVERTY MINISTERIAL MEETINGS AT HOME
Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: Nepal has requested eight-nation SAARC and Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) to hold a ministerial –level meeting on poverty alleviation in Nepal.
SAARC meet is scheduled for 23 October and BIMSTEC meeting 16 January 2012.
BIBSTEC has two members from Southeast Asia and five from South Asia.

JOURNALIST ASSAULTER HELD
Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: Bikash Rai, wanted for assaulting journalist Kishore Budhathoki of Annapurna Post in Sankhuwasabha, was arrested Wednesday.
He was arrested from a remote house in Diding VDC-9 in the eastern district.

NABIL BANK ANNOUNCES 30 PERCENT DIVIDEND FOR SHAREHOLDERS
Kathmandu, 26 Aug.: Board of Nabil Bank 25 August announced a
30 percent dividend per share of shareholders from its fiscal year 2067/68 profit.
The proposal will have to be approved by a meeting of the bank’s
general meeting.
