PM KHANAL SUBMITS RESIGNATION

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal submitted his resignation President Dr Ram. Baran Yadav at 8.45 in the evening Sunday.
Khanal in a short comment said he resigned to pave way for a national consensus government.
He will make a detailed announcement in parliament Monday.
A prolonged drama over demands for Khanal’s resignation with the submission of the resignation has ended.
But a political crisis will continue

DEUBA REGISTERING NO-CONFIDENCE AGAINST RAM CHANDRA PAUDEL IN NC MONDAY UPDATE

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: Senior three-time prime minister is registering a no-confidence against NC Vice-chairman and parliamentary party leader at the central committee Monday, Radio Nepal said quoting an unidentified member of the main opposition central committee.
The member told state radio Deuba has support of majority 59 committee members to oust Paudel as parliamentary party leader.
The move will clear the way for Deuba’s claim for the party’s candidacy for prime minister to succeed Khanal.

SIX BURIED ALIVE IN SOLOKHMBU UPDATE

Kathmandu, 14 Aug.: Six persons, including women from three houses, were buried alive by anovernight landslide at remote Chaurijkharka in Solokhumbu
One woman was rescued alive Sunday.
The remote village is 36 km north of Salleri.
