TOP CHINESE TEAM BEGINS NEPAL VISIT

TOP CHINESE TEAM ARRIVES UPDATE

Kathmandu, 16Aug.: A top 60-member Chinese delegation led by Zhou Yongkang, fourth ranking member of the powerful nine-member standing committee of the Chinese Communist Party (CPC) arrived Tuesday for a three-day visit.
Zhou is the highest Chinese functionary to visit Nepal in eight years.
Minister Ghana Shyam Bhusal, overseeing the Office of the Prime Minster and Council of Ministers, welcomed the team at the airport on arrival by special flight.
After formal talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav. Zhao will hold separate talks with Maoist Chairman Prachanda, NC President Sushil Koirala and leaders of Madeshbadi parties.

MAOIST OFFICE BEARERS TO MEET

Kathmandu, 16 Aug.: Maoist office bearers will meet Tuesday afternoon and review the situation after the resignation of Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal.
They will also discuss securing support for the candidacy of Second Vice-chairman Dr. Baburam Bhattarai for prime minister.
